We are getting our sign in a few weeks! The people drive down our street like the Daytona 500. I have sat on my porch and yelled so many times, we have had our street monitored but to no avail! So I asked for a road sign and the Police department and Town agreed. My son knows about road safety but he is out the door and gone in a flash!! I hope that the sign will help the drivers to be more aware and to slow down!! Being autistic and not very aware of the things going on around him I really want those that drive by to be the ones more aware!!! I hope it works!!! It is supposed to say  Child with autism in area SLOW DOWN or Child with special needs in area SLOW DOWN!

Jun. 23, 2008 at 4:54 PM woo hoo!!!  Me too I almost wrote a post just like this.  Actually I could probably copy and paste it forbatem.  I called last Friday and it's in TODAY I can't believe it.  We also yell at the cars to slow down. Maybe we live on the same street?  LOL.  I asked if we could get a 25 mph sign, but she said no because the are all 20 mph.  We have 2 inparticular that drive like the daytona 500 lol.  Congrats on your sign!!

CONGRATS!!   on the sign.   I sure hope it helps!      We live on a dirt road that goes nowhere  (it dead-ends on both ends)  and yet people  (who do not live on this road--there are only 3 familes that do)  drive down this road at 70 MPH all the time.    They don't even think about slowing down for kids or animals.  Its a scary thing.    Good Luck!

Congrats on the sign. Children with special needs need things like that to help keep them safe...wish I had though of that when Ty was younger and needed something like that. Great job!
