I was talking to my mom the other day, and she mentioned that gas prices where we used to live are around $4.30 a gallon for regular unleaded. She was saying how, with mimimum wage being $8 an hour in WA, it was still costing people a whole days wages to fill their gas tanks. It got me pondering how much we would be spending on gas if we still lived up there...
Because of the long commute through congested traffic, we used to have to fill the tank a minimum of twice a week. That amounts to around $600 a month for just ONE CAR!!
We actually have two cars though, and while the "house" car probably only got filled up every week and a half, that STILL would add approximately another $200 a month to our gas costs.
WOW!!! $800 a month just for gas for our cars! CRAZY!!
It's pretty bad when "it's not so bad we are worrying about putting gas in the car" is a valid measure of how you are doing financially...
Makes me glad we don't have that kind of gas bill where we live now though! (less driving here)
