[Finally]...Soleil Amaya is HERE! [Birth Story & Pics!]

Soleil Amaya Farris was born June 20th at 12:03 A.M. via emergency C-Section, after 30 hours of labor (7 hours of pushing).
I went into labor around 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday the 18th. I worked through contractions until the following day, when, in the early afternoon, I was 8 cm. dilated and our doctor decided it was time to head to the hospital (he'd been coming to our house to check me prior to that). So, we went to the hospital and by 4:30 P.M. they had me pushing. Things were progressing, contractions getting stronger....I got in the water birthing tub and continued laboring until finally around 9:00 P.M. or so, they decided they needed to transport me to the other hospital (that does C-Sections) because the baby was no longer coming any farther down.
The ambulance ride wasn't exactly pleasant, but they made the 40 minute drive in 24 minutes and wheeled me up to see the OB/GYN, who tried for another two hours to make things happen before she decided that a C-Section was the only option. They wheeled me downstairs at 11:30 P.M. and out came baby Soleil at 12:03 A.M....just barely the 20th!
She weighed 6 lbs. 15 oz. and was 20 inches, and absolutely the most beautiful thing I have ever seen (no offense to all of you, of course, whose babies are beautiful as well)! I fell in love with her immediately, as did her daddy and her grandma and everyone else who has seen her so far. She's the sweetest little thing in the world and I even though it's only been a few days I can't even imagine life without her now.
We got home last night and we're all doing great...trying to get used to a new routine (and still trying to catch up on sleep)...but loving it!
