As some of you know, Allison my 17 yr old got married on Saturday. It was fun and exciting but sad at the same time.  Alli and Matt have dated for almost four years and got engaged over Christmas, which really didn't surprise me.  Although they are young by most standards, I think if any young marriage can work it will be theirs.  They moved in together at his mom's house about six months ago and other than the stress of the wedding they get along wonderfully.  I have always loved Matt so that made it alot easier to accept.  He will be a wonderful husband and father and I know Alli will make a great wife and mom.  They are talking about waiting a few years to have any kids so that should give them time to adjust to married life and still be able to have fun while they're young.  Matt is now 21 and works and goes to college and Alli will finish up her senior year in high school this coming year.  it's weird thinking she's still in high school and married, and will have to change her last name on all her records.

The wedding was so much fun. It was sad because I think it's always tough when your kids get married but the party afterwards was great.  There were only about 30 family and friends there which made everything much more intimate and allowed everyone to be themselves and enjoy the party.   Jenny my 16 yr old was the maid of honor and Jenny's boyfriend Dan was the best man.  Other than my ex being there, it was the perfect wedding, and I think we were all shocked that he even showed up...maybe the free liquor motivated him to come. But it was ok, I said hi to him once and didn't talk to him the rest of the day.  And no he didn't pay one dime for the wedding and he told the kids the wedding present is in the mail (probably along with the 10 yrs of child support still owes me ughhh.)  Sure glad he's my ex!  So anyway I have a new son in law and now I'm the "wicked" mother in law lol.  They have their own apartment now and it's close by so I will still see them as often as I did before, hopefully just not when they need money or their clothes washed or a free meal lol.  Anyways i just wanted to write about our exciting weekend and say Congratulations and much love to Matt and Allison Katzenbach.

Congratulations to all of you -- I hope they're very happy together! (And I'm glad they're waiting to have kids ... NO ONE needs that added stress on top of being newly married!)

I wish them the best.  I hope your daughter goes to college/university before she decides to start a family.  They are so young, they have a lot of years ahead of them.  It sounds like it was a lovely wedding, and I wish them the best.  It is so young to get married (although I notice that Americans seem to have a pattern of getting married young, having kids, then getting divorced).   Canadians in general wait longer to get married, although not like I did, until age 41.  Lets just say that I was able to get everything, AND everybody out of my system  before I settled down.   LOL.

Wishing you and them many years of happiness.
