Yesterday I wrote a post about our lack of vision for the needs of others. I can't say how thrilled I am by the responses that I have gotten from many friends and Cafemom sisters. The intention of my previous post was not to single out any one person or purposefully hurt feelings. What I wanted was to open the eyes of as many women as possible, give them a new outlook on life, and hopefully spark in their hearts a hunger to make their lives count. In my previous post, I used my own current struggles as an example for a point I was trying to make. The love and compassion that has come pouring forth to me boggles my mind. Though I am deeply touched by the offers of help from many of you, my intention was not to illicit help for myself, but to instead challenge you to see beyond your own needs, and see the needs of others. And many of you have told me that your eyes have been opened! That you have a renewed appreciation for what you DO have, and a deeper gratitude for the even the small things. That is so awesome! We can change the world ladies!! It is in our power, in our reach! How do we do that? One person at a time. Look around you. You have some extra groceries in your pantry that you can give to someone in need? Or a few extra dollars that you can slip quietly to the woman in front of you in the check-out line who is counting coins....maybe you don't have anything 'material' that you can spare. That is fine too, because you can give of yourself!! How? Offering your cleaning services to the old woman next door, or your babysitting services to the single mom who could really use a break...the list of ways to bless others is as long as the world is wide. One thing that I can absolutely GAURANTEE you.....when you help another person, there is a blessing that comes upon you like no other. You realize that your life counts!! That your actions can change the very coarse of someone's life, and you can MAKE A DIFFERENCE!! There is no greater gift in all of the world, than the gift of love. Freely give your love, your help, to others in whatever way possible...and hopefully the cycle will be continued...from you, to them, to others. Then what will we have? A Circle Of Hope. Of love. Of change. Of a new beginning and a brighter future. All it takes is the reaching out from our own lifeline, to grasp the hand of another who needs a little help. We can all make a difference....now let's change the world!

You are so right Angie, I think some people on here have made mini-careers of trying to save the world, but they spend so much time maginfying how wonderful they are and soaking up the praise that they really aren't doing much of anything than feeding their own ego.

If more people gave freely of themselves... without thinking of themselves; we really could start to change the world.

Time, effort and energy don't cost a thing :0)

I am constantly amazed by you!!! I hope you know that not a single friend of yours thought that your intention was to illicit help for yourself!!! We all know you a little better than that mama! For anyone that has stepped up to help.................they've done it because they do care and because they love you! I've always considered my eyes opened, but you've opened them even wider! I aspire to be as bright a light as you are some day! And I mean that from the bottom of my heart! I am truley a better person for having known you and for reading your wise and courageous words!! I would have to say you're one of the most amazing women I know! I love you mama!

So well put ! Such wise words that we all need to redirect our lives to follow.One small thing can make a huge impact on another . We all can make a difference in someones life. I agree with all the ladies that posted before me..We need to come together and help one another ..thats what cafemom is all about!! And by no means did anyone think you were asking for help for yourself, just the meare open-ness of what is going on in your life made a huge impact on how I / We think...so hopefully with all that said, we can refocus and move in the right direction to making a difference in fulfilling that circle of love and hope....

Wow, Kim you took the words right out of my mouth! I feel the same way about you Angie! You do amaze me more and more each and every day! The thing that amazes me the most is that no matter how much you struggle; no one would know it because of how positive you are all the time; No matter what, you always have a smile on your face and I bet your kids have no idea what you and Jason have been going through because you do your very best to keep them happy and healthy. I too have opened my eyes even wider than they were before and appreciate the fact that I am healthy and breathing more than I did before because of you! I truley do idolize you and consider you a blessing in my life. Thankyou sooo much for being the strong woman that you are! Paying it forward will change the world! I am soooo thankful for your friendship and having you in my life. I love you and you will always remain in my prayers!

Amen sista friend. I did view your original journal and did agree with you, and do not agree with the hateful words that have been spewing from others. It was not intended, and was not interpreted by me to "bash" anyone or make someone feel obligated to help you out. We are all women here and in one way or another we have all struggled. All in different ways of course. But you know what the important thing is? Friendship and what people can/will do for others. And remember girl its how you pick yourself up that counts! Things will turn around for you I feel that in my heart.

I agree with everyone also who wrote before me!! You are an awesome person and have always been dear to my heart since the first time we met on here I knew you were and are a special person. Youa re so right in everything you put in both of your journals and I hope others will think about everything and start to help one another.
