Dreaming

As day turns to night

And the heat of the day turns to shadows in the dark

There's a hole that opens in my heart

A wishful longing that fills my head

As I slowly turn back the sheets and climb into bed

 Closing my eyes, I feel the warmth of yor kisses good night

 I feel the strength of your arms wrapped around me

Holding me so tight

Can hear the shallow sounds of breathing as your chest rises and falls

in tune with my own

Feel the breeze from your lips as it silently licks against the back of my neck

No sounds

No movement

Held there

Lying there

Night after night

As one

No telling where I end and you've begun

Such a wondrous feeling

Such a calm, safe place

As the sun begins to rise and pierce into the lids of my eyes

The dream subsides

And I awake

From another night of dreaming

To find myself in bed,

Alone.
