Beauty is in the eye of the Beh-

Beauty is in the eye of the Creator.
We've all looked in the mirror at some point in our lives and
not liked what we've seen. My hair's too flat, nose too big, eyes
too squinty, neck too short, breasts too small, lovehandles too
lovehandly....and many more hundreds of things different
women feel about their physical appearance.
You know what's really beautiful? A kind word, a friendly
gesture, a tinkling laugh - showing compassion, patience,
friendship. Our words and actions are what make us truly
beautiful.
Verse 31:30 in Proverbs says, "Charm is deceptive, and beauty
is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised".
We know that verse and yet many of us think to ourselves,
"But I still want to be beautiful". Well, then...I'm here to remind
you and prove to you that you ARE beautiful - no matter your
color, height, weight, hairstyle or any other "flaw" you find in
your appearance.
Verse 1:27 in Genesis says, "So God created man in his own
image, in the image of God he created him; male and female
he created them."
Do you think God would boast about creating something ugly?
Verse 31a also in Genesis says, "God saw all that he had made,
and it was very good".
All He made was good. And not just good, but VERY good.
There is nothing bad or wrong with how He made us.
How about Psalm 139:14, "I praise you because I am fearfully
and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that
full well".
In fact, read all of Psalm 139. Would God put in the time and
effort and care into something that was not worthy to be
called beautiful?
I just have one more to share with you. 2 Corinthians 5:17 -
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old
has gone, the new has come!"
When we accept Christ, we become new. It says a "new creation". We know that everything in creation is good already, but when we take Jesus as our Savior all the ugliness of sin and this world are taken from us. So therefore, we are even more beautiful than ever before.
Let's pray -
Father God, thank you for creating us in Your image, for being fearfully and wonderfully made. Help us to live each day knowing that we are a beautiful creation in Christ. Father we ask for the wisdom to see ourselves and others they way you see us. Give us courage and strength in a world whose definition of beauty is so far from yours. Father we ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen.

I just read this book called "Who calls me beautiful", I borrowed it from the Lancaster library. It's a wonderful book that tells us exactly what the Lord feels about us! We are trully beautiful to Him! He loves us no matter what!
