Do you pick up pennies?

I was reading an article on MSN on whether you pick up change when you spot it. There were many who said they do, but I was shocked when I began reading that some felt it was a waste of time.

So let's hear it. Do you pick up pennies/change when you spot it? If so, what do you do with the money?

Jun. 27, 2008 at 1:18 PM Yes I do. But if my kids are with me I tell them to pick it up. Sometimes we keep it in a can then we go get ice cream when it adds up and it does add up.

Jun. 27, 2008 at 1:23 PM If my children pick it up, then they get to put it in their piggy bank when they get home! They love to get coins any and all! They love hearing that change go clang clang in their piggy bank!!! If I'm not in a super hurry then I'll pick up pennies off the ground! My husband sometimes laughs at me but hey, "A penny saved is a penny earned"!!

If I spot some change laying around, I automatically look around to see if it looks like someone is looking for their missing change, and if there isn't; I tell one of the boys, and they pick up.  It normally goes into our change jar.

I voted sometimes....if Im not in an hurry...the kids usually always do......they love to save their money for the icecream truck...lol

Jun. 27, 2008 at 1:45 PM I see it and it's laying on the ground, it's going in my pocket.  I'm sorry, but I'm not going to look around and see if anybody is looking for lost change or bills for that matter.  I wouldn't expect anything less if it were my change or bills.   So, keep it in your pocket. LOL.
