Hubby went to Star Wars Weekends to march the parade, so I've spent the past two days in a painting marathon to send things down with him for various people...plus a few extras just in case. After having a paint brush in hand for two days, I decided I needed a break from painting and settled down at the sewing machine.
I found a really cute pattern by Simplicity that was a republished vintage pattern from 1950. I thought it would be great to combine the old with the new by using vintage patterns with rockin' wild fabric. Thus, I created a little sunromper today with blue flame fabric. The bias tape was a bit fiddly but I eventually convinced it of who the boss was. I altered one thing...the pattern called for buttons and I absolutely HATE doing buttonholes. So I switched them to snaps. Besides, I personally thing that snaps are easier and safer when dressing little ones.
Anyhoo....I feel like I've accomplished something today and if I get to something else than that will just be bonus.
