How do you feel about putting someone to death...legally?

I don't know.  I have never been able to see the benefit of the death penalty.  I feel for families that go through such pain of losing their loved one.  I think there are different degrees of grief(one not being any better than the other...regardless your loved one is not coming back).  I think I could handle losing a loved one to natural causes a lot better than them being brutally murdered.  I think the death of anyone by another human is wrong point blank.  My reasoning for not supporting the death penalty is this:  I feel as though giving them death is the easy way out for their punishment.  I feel sitting in prison day after day after day having to face what they done would be literally torture for them.  I also feel that everyday they are here on this earth is one more day that they can hear the gospel and turn their life around.  My husband and I see differently on this.  He is a supporter of the death penalty...so we get into some civil debates about it.  What is your take on it and why do you feel that way?  I would love to keep this civil and for both sides to put their views on the table.

Here's where you can learn more of the life and death of this wonderful and beautiful little boy:

I do not condone what so ever what this cruel monster did to this little boy.  I can not imagine the grief this mother must endure on a daily basis.  Because, I don't support the death penalty does not mean I support the killer or have no feelings for the victims and families.  I just thought it would be an interesting journal topic to see how every came about to form their opinions...who knows maybe even change mine!  Also, for those who are Christian and used Bible scripture to form their opinion please feel free to post it.  I am very interested in where scripture has led you.  Please, no name calling and cussing.

I am all for the death penalty.  Some people cannot be reformed and need to be exterminated.

I am all for it aswell, Being a true blue Texan, we have it and we use it.  We work to hard to support  our own families without having to support them too....

im for it.i  really could care less about them. And its not as if their gonna sit in prison actually caring about who they killed or they wouldnt have done it in the first place.sitting in jail and thinking about what they've done makes prison seems like a big time out.If we must get rid of the death penalty they should sit in a cell,no tv one meal a day no privlages, outside in a cage "excercise" 5 minutes a week. One visitor a year.I just have no symphothy. And i dont see why people actually care if these people and if their safe and warm in their bed.If they care too bad,i dont

I can actually relate to both points, some peole refuse to change and refuse to admit to wrong. I do not feel they should live the high life in prison better then many hard working families have it out here, while our money supports them. You want to stay alive then work like a dog, Pay us back some of the money you stole from that family, I think if they do not get the death penealty they should work for  decent wages and part of their money go to their upkeep and the rest go to the family of the victim for money they have lost. It does not replace them but it sure makes things a whole lot easier for the families that are now without basic needs due to teh loss of a family member. No weight room, no tv, no cable, no nothing, no A/C, preferably a tent in the heat. You do teh crime you do real time.. I belive those who are beyond rehabilitation should be killed, why shoudl they live good when no one else gets to, they don't worry about who they affected. Sociopaths have no conscience and as such have no ability to comprehend remorse or sympathy.

Iwould like to add that based upon the poor history of our legal system and teh numbers of wrongly convicted individuals I would want to know without the shadow of a doubt the correct person was killed, Make sure they KNOW that is the guilty party..

First, I have in the past read about studies on sexual abusers, pedophiles, child molesters...whatever you want to call them...I call them EVIL...spawns of SATAN!...that these people are not ever going to be rehabilitated...and lets face it...that is not what the prisons are set up to be or equipped to be...there is no rehabilitation going on in the prisons...if anything there is more evil happening...2nd...our prisons provide everything for prisoners...meals, roof over their heads, free cable tv, free gym, free libray, free counseling, free medicines, free medical care, free college education...and I am sure I could think of more...3rd...must murders/rapists/child molesters have no conscious to begin with..so living in prison day after day means nothing to them...most have no remorse whatsoever!

So, as a law abiding citizen, who struggles day to day financially, who is paying back a huge college loan...it infuriates me that we as law abiding citizens of this country have to support people who are pure EVIL..not sick...pure EVIL!  I STRONGLY support the death penalty...it should be done MUCH MORE than it is done...it would clean out the prisons quite a bit...if there were true consequences in our judicial system...maybe it would deter others from such EVIL and VIOLENT behavior...Sadly our judicial system is totally messed up because it is run by man...many of which are evil and of a depraved heart themselves...

I am thrilled that Florida will finally execute this man...it will bring closure for the family...it may not bring their precious child back...but is will bring a sense of justice for them...WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO RIGHTS OF THE VICTIM AND THE VICTIM'S FAMILY...It is deplorable that our country has become such a violent and evil country...there was a time when you could leave your windows unlocked, doors unlocked...when children could walk SAFELY to school or ride the bike SAFELY to school...when you saw some one with car trouble...you could stop and help...now you have to worry that it could be an EVIL LURE so the person can do you harm...now predators are out numbering us...law abiding citizens...now predators ram your car..so you will pull over...just so they can do harm to you...

No, I have no problem with the death penalty...I have no problem with public hangings brought back as a way to execute convicted murders/rapists...we shouldn't have to spend the money on electricity or on the lethal injections..hanging would be cheaper...

Yes, I do realize there are innocent people in prison...I am talking about executing the violent convicted murders/rapists...those that there is so much evidence..physical evidence...not just circumstantial evidence...execute them!!

MORE POWER TO SHERIFF JOE!

If you want biblical verses to support capital punishment...simply google...biblical verses capital punishment...there are many in both the OT & NT...

If you want to read studies that proof men like this...murders/child rapists CANNOT be rehabilitated...you can also google it...

I have already done my research in the past...and know what I think and believe...and will not be convinced any differently...
