My Grand-Goddaughter Ashley

Fifteen years ago, through serendipity and God's grace, I became "godmother" to a beautiful 12-year-old girl named Camille. I have had the privilege of being a part of Camille's life and have watched her grow from a shy, sensitive young lady into an amazing woman of courage and strength.
On May 6th of this year, Camille and her partner Julie officially adopted a child they had been fostering, making me a "grand-godmother!" I want to share the story of Ashley, my grand-goddaughter, with anyone who will take the time to read it, because this little girl is special, and she needs your prayers and support.
Ashley needs a kidney transplant. Without one, she may not live to see her 3rd birthday.
The story of how Camille became Ashley's mother is moving and powerful. You can read about it here, on Ashley's COTA (the Children's Organ Transplant Association) webpage:
http://www.cotaforashleyed.com/
Please take a few minutes to read Ashley's story, and please vote this journal popular. Thank you!
(Want to see something that will crack you up & make your heart melt at the same time? Check out this short little video of Camille & Julie making Ashley's hair into a "mohawk" after bathtime and teaching her how to say "PEACE!" It is SO cute!!!)
Comments:
Oh those beautiful chubby baby cheeks! Voting popular and sending positive energy for her health and strength to you all!
SO cute! I have a (1/4?) sister who just had a 5 organ transplant and now her kidney is failing and she needs a new one. She's only 11.
I hope she gets what she needs. :)
