Why? Isn't there already a Take your child to work day? I think so. I think that if you can't find someone to take your child to work on that day why create a new day?
What about us working mommas? Why would I take someone else child to work so that they could have the day off? I work all day and then have to come home and take care of my house and family.
I personally think that the journal theme is poorly worded and the "or not" is just thrown in there to make it seem like it would effect WOHMs as well.
Now, if there could be a day where moms were celebrated and given time to themselves regardless of their working status that would be great. Wait one minute, there is a day like that, it is called Mother's Day. Now before anyone jumps all over me about how they have to cook or clean on Mother's Day, well, I think you need to get a new SO (if you have one) or ask a family memeber to help celebrate the day. I am lucky to have a very caring and supportive husband who treats me like gold.
Now to get back to the journal theme. If I didn't have to go to work for the day and didn't have my dd for the day, what would I do? Sleep. In fact, that is what I did yesterday and hubby took care of Bekah while I caught up on my sleep. After I finished sleeping, I would get a massage, then have lunch and take a long bath and read a book. Oh wait, I can do any of that stuff any day I want because I have a supportive spouse who realizes that I don't need a made up holiday to get a little time for myself.
