Yesterday, June 29, 2008, was our 23rd wedding anniversary. Even though he was not here to celebrate it with me, I dedicated the day to him. We were supposed to be together forever, or at least 50 years or more. You see, we got married on my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary. We had a double ceremony and the theme was “Following in the Footsteps of Love”. My parents renewed their vows and then our ceremony started. It was a beautiful day and a lovely ceremony.
In celebrating our anniversary, I decided to watch our video and seeing him alive was so refreshing. I smiled, then reality set in and I cried. My daughter was with me as we both were watching the video and she made me laugh too. She said mom look, then and now—pointing to pictures of me and her dad, mainly our grey hair and all. I told her, you’ll have grey hair one day. Then we got the picture book out and I heard her say “my parents were so fine, especially my dad”, boy did I give her a look (smile). We’ve looked at those pictures and video a thousand times and each time she found something different to say. Mom why two fancy cars? He surprised me with a white Rolls Royce and I had a limo sent for him, great minds think alike. I told her that her dad was one of a kind—he simply was a beautiful individual who loved me and I will always love him. Happy Anniversary PierreComments:
