RE-FRAMING THE FEMININE>>>

Through history, women have created ways to bond with each other without a whole lot of prodding, we seem to know how to help each navigate the white-waters of our journeys, how to mark life's passages, large and small, how to listen, and how to simply be present.

In the re-enacted rituals of female banter, we explore the intricacies of our relationships and the complexity of our life situations. At our core, we seem to understand that life is predominantly a mystery. No, we will never "Figure it all out."  we will never arrive at the perfect friendship, the perfect marriage, or the perfect anything. But somehow, that is okay.  What we long for is persistent connectedness as we live the mystery.

But there is a flip side to female bonding. Let's admit it. for some of us, connections with other women don't come as easily as we'd like. We may want to have more women friends, but we've worked long and hard to check them at the door. And maybe when we imagine "(((Feminine)))" bonding, we see "Kleenex retreats" with pink decoration, crafts, and make-up tips.

Sylvi...
I'm sure in time I'll find some good women friends. I know they're out there too. I just stay in so much I hardly get the opportunity to interact and meet with any women. I have to make it a priority In the future.

alamo...

Now I hate crafts ,but love friends ....so where does that leave me ? I can be a true friend , loyal trusting and helpful ...sound like a boy scout don't I . Well any way, I love women and get togethers but of course I like men better ! My Man for sure ! Maybe we need to forget to check out what others wear and how they do their house work or raise the kiddos  and see the friend that is lonely and needy and just wanting to share a thought or two . I hope I am open and willing to hush and be a good listener ..

.God let me be wise in this area of my life .Thanks you for your mercy and love ...

The post made me stop and think ...Thanks Bigmama...you did it again !
