So I hate even writing it down... but I'm in my in-laws hometown. It is so hard. Every time we come here it puts a strain on our marriage. My husband feels so guilty about not living in the same town with his family. I feel like an outsider on the wrong team. My mother in law is a piece of work. Very dramatic. I'm the baddy that stole her baby. Sheesh. I'm unhappy. Hubby's distant. My daughter insists on spending the night the last three nights with her grandma.... I miss having her to talk to.... I could use a good cry, but dont want to be the weepy victim. Send me strength!

Mar. 30, 2007 at 5:01 PM I'm with you, girl. Why is it that the mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship is SO HARD? I like my MIL. I mean, she's a nice person, basically. But, BOY does she get under my skin. I could go on for days about the reasons. But this is your post! I'll save that for another day.

Take a deep breath (or several) and take comfort in the fact that you're not there forever. Put on a smile, and kill her with kindness. :-D

Oh my goodness- Justt thank the Lord you live as far away as you do! I am guessing you don't have to go through this very often?

We are 3 hours away from my MIL and I haven't seen her in 1 year and 7 months! I have to admit I am an awful person and just the thought of not seeing her fills me with GLEE!!! I refuse to let her make me miserable...

So, I do wish you strength- hang in there! You will be home snuggling and talking and giggling with your daughter again VERY soon!

Try and get out and away... go rent a horse and take a looooong ride! : ) Or go for a hike, instead of telling her to! LOL... see, I am just awful!

Apr. 1, 2007 at 6:45 PM Yep you are very lucky you are so far away,  mine are just 2 miles down the road.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!     My kids are older so they don't visit that  often, thank God  they are more busy with the 6 other younger grandkids.  Good Luck.
