Why do we as a society prevent and protect our children from seeing x-rated, or sexual acts, words, etc. on television and in movies, yet we allow this crap to play all over our airwaves, lollipop and sexy can i are just a couple of the songs I refuse to even listen to myself, and I will not let it play if my kids are in the car with me.
Why do we allow these songs that talk about sex to be played on the radio freely yet we wouldn't dare let our children watch the things these songs talk about on tv or movies?
Let me get this out there too...I am by no means a prude or a stuck up christian. I am a woman in a lesbian relationship, a working mom of 4 kids, and I think we've got things pretty screwed up when things like this are ok in our society.

How can we as mothers get a law passed to take this kind of smut off the airwaves? How can we make it so that this stuff is on paid radio only, kind of like the stuff you have to pay HBO to watch, make people pay satellite radio to hear this stuff.

That gets played on the radio?? Seriously??? I'm at a complete loss. On top of the sex stuff, they use "the N word" repeatedly. Does it get bleeped?
I am so not a prude, but...
Uhm...I am not a prude either, but I AM prudent...and that crap is not advisable for young ears...
I wish we could manage the radio like we can television programming...that we could know which stations to put on the watch list before discovering the offense. It is prevalent...we've become so loose with the rules that smut is normal and morals (and mine are secular and freaky, thankyouverymuch) are considered unreasonable.

Hey - I haven't listened to NIN (or anything else in my CD library) in my truck, at home during operational hours (in years) because my daughter is with me all the time...and I got tired of forwarding over every song on the album.
I wound up playing the '60-70's oldies' because the worst I might have to zap would be Marvin Gaye.

THE ROLLING STONES, LED ZEPPLIN, BON JOVI , PINK FLOYD AND A LITTLE BIT OF ELTON JOHN....The stuff is insane, oh, and Rock always got the bad name..........lol
