HoNeY’s Sweet Homebirth...
On December 12, 2006, HoNeY was born in a cozy living room in Endicott, NY. Homebirth moms realized New York State law was hindering their access to care in the setting of their choice, so they did what they do best—come together, create, and organize. Babies played, ideas flowed, and lasting connections formed. Now, as the members move forward with their goal of reaching and supporting homebirthers throughout the state, HoNeY is growing sweeter by the day.

Our Mission Statement:
HoNeY is a consumer-based group that advocates for a woman’s right to birth at home.
Through activism and education, we support homebirth and other natural childbirth options in local communities. HoNeY invites women to create a New York in which all mothers can birth in the setting of their choice.

Our Goals:
HoNeY is working to educate the public and support women making choices about childbirth.  We strive to:

  • Raise public awareness about natural childbirth and access to care issues
  • Develop a network of birth activists addressing local access to care issues.
  • Promote fair and equal treatment of homebirthers who transfer to hospitals
  • Provide resources and materials for all families wishing to explore their birth options.
