I'm way overdue for an update to you awesome mamas!!
So, I'm done with the class work....FINALLY! It was a very difficult last semester with many ups and downs. I managed to make it through with pretty good grades (I'm one of those gotta get an A girls and well, I didn't get all A's this go 'round). But the good thing is, classes are over. I'm now doing my internship in the NICU and it is AMAZING!! I absolutely love it. I've learned so much already. My emotions have been all over the board and I've had to force myself to step back for a moment and breathe. I actually do pretty well while at work and then when I get down I have to lean on my hubbie for a bit and just let it out. I just feel so much for those parents and those little kiddos going through this difficult time.
Last week I made a trip to the Nurse Managers office to introduce myself. She asked what I planned to do after graduation and I mentioned that I would be interested in working "here." She wanted to interview me on the spot. I was unprepared so attempted to stall and so we set up an appointment for the following day (Thursday). Thursday at 1230 I went to see her and we had a 20 min. interview and that was it...I was hired. I don't have all the details yet, but I will be starting general hospital orientation on Sept. 8 (the day after Syd's 1st bday). I'm still trying to process it all...but I have a job. Six days into my internship and I have a job. Pretty freakin' sweet, I have to say.
I think my husband is just about as excited as I am to have a job and be done with school. Graduation cannot come fast enough. I'm working, but I still have a ton of paperwork that has to be done. I am so ready to be done with it and to be able to just work and on my days off be able to just veg out. Not to mention we will be back to a double income household again and not have to worry about stuff so much anymore. Life is getting back on track and I've actually been out a few times and enjoyed myself. We had a great weekend, hanging out with friends and family, drinking some wine, and playing some lawn games. I haven't done things of this nature in almost two years. It's good to have a life again and it is even better to have a munchkin and an amazing husband to share it with.
Well, I have some paperwork to finish up for tomorrow. I hope you are all doing well and please don't be strangers. I'm back to checking in on my favorite site at least once a day, so I want to hear what is going on with you all too!!
Talk to you soon!!

Congratulations! I know you're in Council Bluffs and I'm in LaVista. If you don't mind me asking, which hospital are you working at? Where'd you take your classes? I'd love to be a NICU nurse. Yet, finding the time to do so, even work is not going to happen right now with Eddie being so dependant on me.
