This post is a rant pretty much. My lovely town has decided to fix up the park. True, it has needed it but their ways confuse me. This morning my kids, mom, stepdad, and myself had breakfast at the park. It was good. I showed my mom what had changed. We looked up when we first arrived and it broke our hearts. There she was. She should have made our hearts light up with pride but instead she was tangled around the pole, battered and broken. Our flag should not get as bad as this one is. Her colors faded, rips allowing her to be tangled the way she was and probably is. The next day my mom has off, we're going to retire the Old Glory we witnessed and put a new one in her place. I was the original Flag Keeper at West Park rec center in Irving. As I write this, I feel like crying. I take pride in being an American and seeing her wave.

If you read this, thank you.

That is terrible. However, it's something to think about... Tattered and torn, She still means freedom. She needs to be retired. Thank you for taking the time to do that.
