Vacation plans

I've finally gotten around to making trip plans. We have a bunch coming up & I feel so blessed that we are able to do this. For so many years I didn't have the time or wasn't able to afford to do much of anything. Many thanks to my husband for making it possible.

We will be going camping in August with the MOMS Club. That should be fun. I opted out on the tent thing. I'm pretty much over it. I'm all about luxury these days :0)  We sold our travel camper right before we moved here, so we're renting a pop-up.

In September, I'm flying up to Alaska to visit family. I'm really looking forward to spending time with everyone up there. I've missed them so much since we moved down here. I wanted to try to get up there or at least have family come visit, once a year & so far we've managed to do that, though it still doesn't seem like enough (I miss my grand-babies!)

In October, we're spending a week in Winter Park, CO. Just hanging out, hiking & stuff. 

For Thanksgiving we're headed down to Arizona to see my Mom. We're planning on driving down & that part I'm definitely not looking forward to. I hate driving long distances. After driving for 9 days, from Maine to Alaska years ago, it pretty much ruined road trips for me.

We also made our yearly vacation plans for March. We are headed to Cozumel (again) with hopes that family can join us (air fare to Italy - where I wanted to go originally- is high from Alaska, so it's less affordable for them). Oh well, at least the diving is great there & it will be nice for everyone to get together.

So that's it for now, though I'm hoping that we'll get over to Breckenridge or Vail sometime this winter to do some skiing (or at least sitting around a nice roaring fire sipping spiked cocoa :)

Jul. 8, 2008 at 10:00 AM It sounds like you have a wonderful line-up of relaxation planned. I am with you on the tenting thing. As I have aged I found I prefer the comfort of a bed.
