Looks like Luke will be in the NICU atleast one more week.  His apnea test showed more then 1/3 of his breathing was periodic and he had a decel in the low 70's as well as his o2 dropped to the low 70's.  The doc said that Luke fixed it himself but it lasted longer then they would like.

They gave us the option of giving him caffeine through an iv and sending him home in a few days on the caffeine and with an apnea montior or keeping him in the NICU for atleast 5 more days to watch for more episodes.  I would rather he NOT have caffeine pumping through his veins so we decided to let them watch him for the next five days and see what happens.  the doc felt that it was the best to do for Luke.  As much as I want him home NOW I would rather he not be on all this crappy medication to make it faster for us.  I want him to be able to straighten this out according to his own body unless absolutlety neccessary.   If in a week he is not home then we will discuss the caffeine. 

Joe and I are going over to see Luke in a little while.  I am most upset and afraid that he is not going to really care about me when he gets home.  I have had little bonding time with him at all.  It bothers me alot but I know its for the better.
