Yesterday Abrianna was having a kind of rough day.  She was whiny and tired and couldn't manage to get along with her brother for anything.  At one point, I told her she needed to go color or read a book in her room and just relax until she could be nice.  So, she did.  She came running out ten minutes later with this HUGE smile on her face.  She was jumping up and down and was so excited about something she pretty much yelled at the top of her lungs, "Mommy! Mommy!"  I just looked at her and waited, unprepared for what came next.  "God is talking to me!  He's talking to me in my heart!"  So I asked what He was saying and she said, "He told me He loves me very much!"  My little girl was so in awe of that, that my heart was in awe.  Gone was her pouting face, sad eyes and whine.  She was transformed by that message from God.

It really is amazing when the Creator of the universe, the I AM, God Himself speaks to the human heart and whispers His love.  It's just as amazing when the open heart of a child receives that message and embraces it and the joy just emanates out from them.

Jul. 9, 2008 at 12:16 PM I love to see my children's perspectives on God.  What they notice, how they pray and sing.  Here's my two year old's prayer this morning at breakfast, "Dear Jesus, I wuv you.  Tank you fo dis food, amen."  :)

Jul. 9, 2008 at 9:51 PM I just love the sweet innocence that children have about them.  I am so glad that she was able to recognize where her comfort was coming from.  You are a good Mom because you have taught your children to be sensitive to the spirit. Thanks for sharing!
