Its really upsettin when you wake in the mornin to hear about an old friend on the news for all the wrong reasons......
This was a guy Ive known since pre-school. His Mother was the owner.
His sister, unfortunately, also a friend of mine that I latter worked with in that same day-care center, was arrested a few months ago for scammin credit cards at a local Wal-Mart.
Its really sad. These were good kids.
Where does it all go wrong?

— A man stole $46,000 worth of jewelry Monday morning after using a hammer to break the front window of a South Tamiami Trail store, the Sheriff's Office said.

William McDonald, 30, left the U.S. Coin and Jewelry store at about 7:45 a.m. in his green Saturn car, where detectives later found the jewelry, the Sheriff's Office said.

McDonald faces burglary and grand theft charges. Detectives say he admitted breaking into the store because he is recently unemployed and abuses prescription drugs.

McDonald remains in the County jail on $1,000 bail.

I agree with chocolatluver...when my Dad died in 78 his house payment was $41 a month! Heck I remember payin 25 cents a gallon for gas and lookin at the new Pintos when they came out for $2100! Man I'm old huh? Seriuosly though, I went to school with a guy who was on the honor roll and became a murderer! Also hung around with a girl who was decapitated in a car accident with another girls wife....and her husband was in Viet Nam. Ya just never know how people are gonna turn out!

That's really sad.  I wonder if he was on drugs.  My sis is a drug addict and she makes some really really poor decisions.  You are just not yourself when you are on drugs.  My sis is one of the funniest and funnest people that I know.  But when she is using she is totally a different person.  It breaks my heart.  I am not assuming that he is on drugs....just wondering.  If he is, then that is probably why his life is going in this direction.  I am so sorry that your friend is in trouble.  I know it's heartbreaking.  :(

Jul. 10, 2008 at 12:02 AM ain't that something?  i graduated with people that are now criminals .  i also graduated with people, who since we graduated, have killed themselves.  it's really a crime, looking back and seeing people that had such hopeful futures ahead of them.

Jul. 13, 2008 at 3:09 PM Mourning who someone used to be is okay, as long as it doesn't become an obsession.  People change, some for the good, and unfortunately some for the bad.  I think we all have had this happen to us in our lifetime.  I dated a guy just after my divorce and he was the greatest guy in the world.  Lost track of him for 3-4 years and the next thing I know the headlines are blazing about how he tripped out and kidnapped his neighbors 16 y/o daughter, held her captive for 2 days while he raped and battered her.  That was a freakin eye-opener!
