The kids and I are going up to Mom's for a week, leaving Sunday. I've been trying to get all the laundry washed before we go and the rest of the house in good general order! Hopefully I'll even have some time Saturday evening to finish up the packing. Ira's baby stepsister is getting married Saturday at 11:30, at MIL's house. Clare and JT will be flower girl and ring bearer. I made a music CD for Sarah (SIL), music for the whole shebang. I'm taking my ipod/stereo for the reception, which is also at MIL's house. Having the wedding so early, we should be back home by 6 that evening. We're leaving for Mom's around noon, right after Ira leaves for work. I haven't yet decided if we'll come home on Sunday the 20th or Monday the 21st. Grandpa's birthday is the 21st but I hope to visit with him sometime during the week if we can. Bro just moved closer to Mom's and we may stay a couple nights with him and the girls. (See how I plan everything? I'm definitely a "wing it" kinda gal!)
The thing I'm looking forward to most is meeting up with two of CafeMom friends! We've planned a dinnertime picnic for the three families, and are bringing the Nanas too! I went to school with their DH's, and haven't seen them in a long time. I definitely need to remember both camera batteries and the charger! And the ipod stereo too :-) I want to see the guys singing along with NKOTB! LOL (Joking, man, seriously) Anyway, you two know who you are, and I'll get with you before we leave to see about time and food arrangements. I can't remember if they have grills at that park, but it seems like they did.... anyway, I'll message you both tomorrow if not tonight.
Speaking of tomorrow, FIL is coming to take the kids over after work so they can get all the sleep they need before the wedding. Plus their clothes are already over there, and Ira & I can get ready and on the road in no time if we don't have to wake and drag the kids out of the house on time. So tomorrow after they've left, Ira's taking me out to get me my new bike!! That way I can take my current bike to Mom's and leave it there for when we visit. The new bike has a basket built on to the handlebars, and a stuff rack under the seat already - so I'll just need a box or basket of some sort and some straps to tie it on! Which means, I can bring home more groceries at a time on the bike rather than having to take the car a two-minute drive just so everything fits. I'm excited about this bike! (I mentioned and linked it in a previous WLJ, I think, but it's a Kona AfricaBike.)
12:30 now and time to get back to it! I need to make a pantry inventory before we go so Ira knows what there is to eat while he's home. We won't be grocery shopping until around the 25th anyway so it needed to be done. I might bring a copy to Mom's and see if she can help with fresher menu options rather than all my "old stand-by's". Have a great weekend, a great week next week, and look for the next WLJ on the 22nd!
Blessings,
~Julia
