Your friend Amy_I posted about this for you in a forum. I just wanted to throw my experience with something similar your way- hope it offers some direction:
Maybe this is a labial adhesion? My daughter's ped discovered this when she was 4 months old and prescribed Premarin to reopen it... once reopened, we had to apply Vaseline specifically to the spot that was prone to closing. It finally stopped closing a few months after she turned 1.
If it goes too far, surgery may have to be considered (this is worst case scenario).
Some doctors will allow it to reopen on it's own, with no prescription.

My oldest DD had this when she was about that age and her DR gave me a script for a cream with estrogen in it to apply to the vaginal area for a few weeks. She also told me it was due to the decrease in estrogen after birth and that it is common for this to happen. The cream helped and she hasn't had any problems since, she will be 4 in 18 days. Hope this helps, and everything is okay with your daughter.

Not opening up the vagina when wiping. There was a post not long ago. A mother stated that her 2 yr old daughter was being potty trained and the mother was letting her wipe. Well the daughter was not doing a very good job and she got infected and the vagina closed. They took her to the doctor and I am not sure what the update is.
Sorry to hear this.
I hope that she is okay.
Warmly
Bonne
