Welcome to Little Sunshine Christian Daycare.

I would like to begin by introducing myself and my family. My name is Sarah, I am a 29 year old mother to a beautiful 10 month old girl named Aubrey. She is a very sweet and social baby and an absolute joy to be with. I married Brian, my husband and best friend in March 2007. He works for Embarq in Gardner. I have been blessed to be at home with my daughter these past 10 months. In my desire to continue being home with her I made the decision to open a home daycare. I have completed the licensing requirements and have a temporary license. I will soon be receiving my permanent license.

I am very excited about this new business venture. I am passionate about providing my child with the best that I have to offer. I do everything in my power to ensure that she grows up to be a secure, healthy and confident child. I plan to operate a small daycare program with children close in age to my own child. I currently have two open positions for infants under 18 months. I may add one or two additional children after the first year as long as I feel confident that all children in my care are receiving adequate amounts of love and attention. I look forward to forming long term relationships with my daycare families as I view the children and parents as extensions of my own family.

I have taken college courses in childcare, Child Psychology and Adolescent Psychology. I am currently two courses away from completing my BA in Sociology with a concentration in Psychology. As part of my licensing requirements I have completed seven training courses through Johnson County Health Department including First Aid and CPR Certifications. I am constantly looking to further my education by reading and attending future courses with the county.

My home is located in West Olathe near K-7 & Santa Fe. Childcare is currently offered on the main floor of my home. In the near future I will be finishing a portion of my walk out basement and designing that space with the needs of the children in mind. I have a fenced outdoor play area and all the equipment necessary for infants. We have two very friendly cats who my daughter adores, they have been part of our family for five years. I manage their time so they are only around my daughter when I can supervise the situation. The cats have current vaccinations.

I offer a variety of learning opportunities, we love to read, listen to music, dance, go on walks to the park and play outdoors. I encourage exploring and feel strongly about child-led learning. For my parents I provide daily "report cards" and take many pictures to share so parents can see the fun activities their children have been partaking in. I will be participating in the CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Program). I prefer the nutrients found in fresh fruits and vegetables so I make my own infant food in accordance with their standards.

If you are looking for quality care for your children I would love the opportunity to talk more with you. I feel very strongly about finding a "match" that will work well for your family and for mine. If you are interested in speaking with me feel free to send me a message. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Sarah Barth
