Well, we got part of the tree chopped up. The part that had fallen. The rest of the tree will have to come down we just ran out of time that day. We are trying to find time to get the rest of the tree down. That is going to be so much fun. LOL

Anyway, here's the pictures from Friday, when we got the first part chopped up.

^ ^ ^ Once the guys got the big branch down just a little, we could see the damage a little better.

^ ^ ^ My husband got to use a chainsaw. LOL

^ ^ ^ Figuring out what to do next.

^ ^ ^ The big branch on the left side was the hardest part, it was balanced in 2 of its branches which kept shifting. This picture was taken after the other branch was taken off the top (that branch was so big around I could barely reach my arms around it).

^ ^ ^ You can see how it was balanced on the two branches in this picture.

The good news, we got the branches that fell cleared up. No one got hurt!!! That's the most important part. We had stretched orange tape around the whole area to keep the children from getting into the tree. Our friend got here about 10:30 on Friday morning. His 2 kids came too (his wife got here later that afternoon). So I had 5 children running around, luckily they mostly just wanted to watch the show (the tree being chopped up) from a "safe spot" we set up. They also started hauling the logs to a woodpile (well, the 4 older children did, the little one, mine, 21 months, stayed in the house). It was a good day. We got the branches chopped up, we had our friends stay for dinner (I cooked) and we had some good conversation. All in all, given the task we had, it was a good day.
