Well, we survived another day on the potty training front, without too many problems! So far, Alyssa has taught Donald Duck, Minnie Mouse, her rubber ducks, and her doll to use her little potty chair while she sits on the big potty.

She also knows to pull her pants down, sit on the potty, get off the potty, pull her pants up, flush, and then wash her hands. It's the part between the "sit on the potty" and "get off the potty" that she still doesn't really get.

She still pooped and peed in her Pull-Up today, which I didn't make a big deal of. I just dumped the poop into the toilet and told her that's where it's supposed to go. Alyssa nodded, flushed, and waved bye-bye to it. LOL!

If I can just get her to actually go once on the potty, I know the rest will fall into place in no time! I suppose I am going to have to wake her up early one day and put her on the potty right away. The only problem with that, is I'm barely awake before she is!

Jul. 15, 2008 at 11:43 PM If you really wanted to get Alyssa potty trained fast, do this. What I did with Jade was, I got rid of the pull-ups. The kids think it is just a diaper so they don't really learn. Put Alyssa in underwear. Yeah you'll have a mess for a few days, but in the long run it is worth it. Jade was potty trained in 3 days by me doing it this way. Who knows, it might just work for Alyssa too.

Jul. 16, 2008 at 8:43 AM I'm tryhing to potty train Max, too! I thought with the second child it would be easier...no such luck. He like to sit and flush and wash his hands. I get him to pee occasionally....but, he just won't go! Let me know if you have any good advice!

Jul. 16, 2008 at 8:52 AM I agree with the first comment to get rid of the pull up because its just another form of a diaper. I put underwear on Parker a couple of Sunday's ago and we've been going to potty ever since. Though we still have accidents but he's learning that that's where the peepee's go.

If you get rid of pull-ups be prepared for accidents around the house! This is what I ended up trying with Maddy and we had messes everywhere! I thougt she would never train. I thank the pre-k teachers for finally getting her potty trained!

I agree with the other posters.  When I started potty training David I quickly found out that pull-ups are nothing but glorified diapers.  I took him to the store and let him pick out some undies and we went from there.  Be warned there are going to be plenty of accidents but once David figured out he did not like being wet he started to go in the potty.  It took a couple of months and lots of accidents but he is now peeing in the big toilet and he stands to pee!  Now we have to conquer pooping and we will be set.  Good Luck!
