I love signing w/ my baby, she can hardly say anything and can sign yes, no, more, milk, blow kisses, shake hands, clap... it's the most wonderful thing you can do for a baby whether they can hear or not! Try looking up signing time for baby signing vids that are pretty good. not an end all solution for learning ASL, but a start!

OW MAN.. im dealing with an ENT right now too, zays hearing is questionable!!! he has microtia on the left, its like a half an ear with no openings, still looking into that, but that will be later.. we are doing on test next fri were they have to put him to sleep to do this hearing test, to see how much he can hear... he passed the newborn screening and that one were they stcik an ear peice in to check the vibrations, but he dint pass the sound booth test.. its fustrating.. but im with ya on, i just want him to be able to hear.. but if he cant, its ok too, my sisters dad is deaf and mute!! but he is awsome and with todays techknoligies, he can hear high pitched sounds, like a scream, blow dryer, car horn... i wish you the best of luck, your family is in my thoughts!!

My DD is hearing impaired also. It's a long road, but with the right services and finding it early he will have a much better chance of catching up with his peers. I know you may feel helpless if you ever need to talk to someone who has gone through this message me anytime. Big Hugs Ali
