I am embarrassed. Please help.

My boyfriend has had his cat's litter box in his kitchen for ten years. When I moved in I convinced Ted to remodel his kitchen. I tried to get his cat to outside to eliminate but now dear kitty has a hip problem and doesnt get around much. So I put a litter box in the guest bathroom. He poops there but he keeps peeing in the kitchen where his box used to be.  If I put the litter box in the kitchen it will be right in front of the refrigerator. That is soo unsanitary! There is nowhere else in the kitchen to put it.

We already tried the "no pee-pee" liquid we bought online and it doesnt work. This is an old cat who is stuck in his ways. What can I do?

Please help!

Updated: So I got the Anti Icky-Poo stuff we ordered online. It works very well. No pee smell!  Then we moved the cats food to the area where he kept going to. I also got another litter box and put it next to the other litter box. Since we have two cats, now we have two litter boxes. I would rather not have them go in the house at all but since Taz is older this is the best thing. So far there havent been any problems.

Jul. 16, 2008 at 4:12 PM There are training pads for puppies that can be found at Wal-Mart and other pet stores. Just put one of those down where the cat's box used to be, and once he uses it, then just pick it up, throw it away, and put another one down. It's not a big pad or anything; it almost looks like the cloths they put under you when you give birth. They're white on the inside and have blue trim (some of them anyway).

Thanks Tiff,I thought of that but it seemed just like having a litter box there. once I left the dust pan there and he peed in it!

I did a little research and I am going to clean the area very well with a special product and then we are going to put the food dish where he keeps peeing. Intention that he wont want to pee where his food is!

I will post if it works or not.
