Has anyone ever had their house tested for mold, in the house (air) and crawl space. If so what was the toxic mold count (Stachybotrys).
We were in the process of buying a house and the inspector found Stachybotrys in the air and in the crawl space. The counts are elevated we don't know if we should go forward with it.

the inspector should be able to explain the results. You don't want the mold counts in the house to be higher than outside.
If the inspecter also does remediation then I think I would take the numbers and call the 800 number for the mold testing agency/group.
We did find mold in a place we were going to buy. We heard too many horors stories from family so we backed out and I don't regret it.
We have a friend who bought a place without a mold test. Long story short, the previous owner painted over the mold and of course it came back and he has spent the past few years replacing every panel of dry wall in his townhouse!
So if there is a lot of fresh paint that would be a big red flag to me. Are there disclosures that the seller signed saying they don't know of any mold?
Our friends got stung because they signed a piece of paper to take the fridge etc and it voided their other legal rights on the house, so they have had to pay for everything themselves.
Good luck. Let me know if you need some help finding out information.
