So stressed out, need some help!

I'm an at home mom and I have been one for 5 yrs. I dont know if its me, but my kids dont seem to listen to me like they do their father and it really pisses me off. I am just as hard on them as he is but it seems like they just ignore me. There have been days where I am so stressed out that I just breakdown and cry. They all start school on august 19th, but I wonder if it is still going to be like this after they start school. Are there any other moms out there that know what I am going thru and are there any moms who have advice. Please help me if you can. I feel like im at my breaking point sometimes. Thanks

Jul. 18, 2008 at 8:57 AM My older daughters do not listen to me AT ALL. Their dad has been out of town all week and they have been horrible. They haven't done one thing around the house and have been disrespectful. No advice except stand your ground and say whatever they are doing is not acceptable behavior and to not be emontional about it.

Kids are great at getting moms to breaking points, thats their job and they do it well.

Change it up on them. Instead of yelling at them or asking them for the 100th time to do something you need them to do,  SING to them,  loudly and obnoxiously, so that they will stop and listen to what your saying to them.  

The thing is with kids. Mom is depended on for everything and anything. And when Mom talks, no one pays attention, its just mom making me do something again!   So spice life up and put some humor into your parenting.  Catch them off gaurd.  ITs fun sometimes to do stuff like this just to see what they will do or how they will look at you when you do pull a fast one on them.
