HE'S HERE!!!!
Hayden Lee Wagner was born on Tuesday, July 15th at 1:53am. Yes...AM!! He weighed 7lbs 12oz and was 21 inches long.
It all started Monday morning at about 1am when I started having contractions. At about 430 I went to the hospital and was dilated to a 3. (The last time the doctor checked me I was a 2 1/2, which was the Wednesday before.) They put me on the monitor for an hour and then checked me again but I was still a 3.
The nurse had noticed that when I had some of the contractions, which were pretty strong by the way, Hayden's heart rate would drop. So she wanted to watch me a little longer. She suggested I walk for about 30 minutes then be put on the monitor again for 30 more minutes.
After that hour was up she checked me again and I was dilated to a 4! She called my doctor and he told her to have me walk for about 30 more minutes and see what happens. Nothing happened.
The doctor then had me walk for 45 minutes, with which nothing happened after that either. When he checked me and I was still at a 4, he decided to strip my membranes. For those of you that don't know what that is, let's just say it hurts. ALOT!!
He said that he expected me to go within the next 24 hours, so to be safe, for me not to eat or drink anything after midnight that night and to be at his office at 8am. Then he sent me home.
I was still having contractions throughout the day, just not as bad as they had been that morning. Until 10pm! They were coming so strong that afterwards I would just shake. I called my aunt who is an L&D nurse at the hospital (bless you Aunt Betina!!) and asked her what to do. She informed me, eventually, that I needed to go to the hospital. I had her to come pick me up on her way up there as Jacob had just gotten Jordan asleep.
As she was pulling into the driveway, I started having a contraction. When it was gone, I started walking out to her car and had to stop for another one. I had about 2 or 3 more on the way to the hospital which is about 5 minutes away. Then I had about 2 or 3 more before they were able to get me into the hospital bed.
Once they did, they checked me and I was at a 6 with my water sac about to burst. So they ran and got the doctor on the phone with which he hustled it up there. When he arrived he checked me, and I was still at a 6 so he broke my water for me. That was at about midnight.
At 142am I was fully dilated and ready to push. At 153am, Hayden was born! Yep that's right I only pushed for 11 minutes!! Anyways, I know that its a long story to tell, and type, and read, and hear....but there you have it!
Here is some pictures of our little man...enjoy!
