A Poem for Alex...

It only took one look

I was hooked...

I had to have him...make him mine forever!

While there was name confusion - the face could not be forgotten

What was a consellation prize fell into our hearts forever

He came into not just our home, but our family

Permanently he was ours, that would not change

Baby steps we took as we got to know each other...

Once we were comfortable he became more than a dog

He was a smile, a pant, ears perked when he heard a familiar voice

He came to depend on us

We came to depend on him

We were hooked!

Through thick and thin

He was ours!

A Moment in Our Lives...

An eternity in our hearts!

Aug. 30, 2008 at 2:33 AM Very beautiful poem,R.I.P.Alex.I have posted poems also cause it helped me through the grieving process while trying to cope with my cats Ballie's death.Maybe you can see them and read them.They always stay in our hearts.We cremated Ballie and she is here in front of me all the time.We adopted four cats after a cuople of months of Ballie's death.We loved them very much,but Ballie will always be special to us.

I'm sorry for your loss mama.  I've grown up with pets my entire life and am so attched to ours now.  So is my husband. Thank goodness we share the deep love of animals together! It's just nice to have that in common and our pets are defintely family in our eyes.  Big Hugs~
