Sometimes I feel sorry for my Matt......

This was a baby that should not have been by all real accounts...LOL!  After my second son was born...my husband had a vascetomy....

Then just a month short of a year later....we found out we had a surprise on the way.....

When Matt was born...he looked just like son number 2....everything went good with the pregnancy and with the delivery...(repeat c-section) A few hours later....I had lots of visitors and got to see my baby too....my husband got to hold him and really get to know him....they bonded well.  That day and into the next....I noticed that he never opened his eyes....I kept asking what is up....they kept telling me that I was crazy, everything was fine....he was just a tiny baby....he would open his eyes in time! 

However, having had 5 kids....I just knew something was not right.  Turns out I was right.  He had a condition called ptosis....the nerves or muscles had not grown down all the way in his right eye!

At 8 weeks old he had his first surgery to help with this problem.

Now over that...and starting to settle into a new pattern and life with 3 kiddo's in the house....then life got crazy....at 3 and a half months old....his older brother started having seizures....

This meant trips and trips to the ER and hospital....I was still breastfeeding so, along came Matt....

Most of Matt's life has been in the shadows of Alex's seizures.....Not that he has been forgotten or left behind in anyway....just that when I look back....it's hard to see where the last two years have gone for him...he was just that baby who couldn't open his eyes...Now he counts to ten and backwards from 5.....is talking up a storm....has the most wonderfu personality....and is a pure joy to be around....I just feel like in someways I slept through some of the best parts of his last two years....

Well, I will do better from here on out!!!

So on the note....I just want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  MATT!!!
