When I sat down at the computer today, I got to thinking about how blessed I am. My kids are healthy and happy, and Mickey and I are able to give them everything they need. Then I thought about the parents who aren't that blessed, and it made me teary-eyed to know that they're judged and ridiculed simply for getting the assistance needed. I guess it's just a reflection point...This is not a journal for debate!!! Don't like it? Move around!
This really hits home! My husband and I separated 2 months ago and he won't pay more then $200 in child support a month. Since I lost my job because my girl was sick and he wasn't anywhere around to help out. I have to use the $200 on bills (which doesnt go to far).
Because of all this I had to apply for food stamps. I really hate how people assume that I have always lived on assistance and that my kids or myself are not worthy of food or housing. It's really a blow to someone that has worked hard to move up but was knocked down when it wasn't expected.
Wonderful post! Judgemental-ism is a rampant epidemic in America today and with a bit more compassion and understanding, the world would be a better place to live. Thanks for your eloquent words!

that was a beautiful piece!!!!!!!!!! my husband and i are both laid off right now, and were trying to get assistance. but what many people dont realize (unless theyve been through it) is that it is really hard now a days to qualify. put togeather were making less than 1000 a month, almost all of which goes for bills, we go to the food pantry, but its only availible once a month. theyre making us jump through hoops to get help. i wish more people would see this peice and really understand its message. thanks once again for showing me that there are some people out there who dont judge.
peace luv an bubble gum,

I just KNOW this one better make #1. If its not on the hot list, I'm puttin' it there.
*HUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS*
I wasn't in the system, but I know people who are. And I get reported at least twice a month for cussing out some bimbo for talking trash about FS and FA. To the mommas reading this and going THROUGH it, KEEP YOUR HEADS UP! It really DOES get better one day. SOoner than later but later than soon.
