So, my kid's bike was stolen yesterday. Right out of our garage. Oh yeah, did I mention, it was broad daylight...AND my other kids were playing outside! Pretty bold if you ask me. There was a bike that mysteriously appeared by my neighbor's house...again, at the same time. It had been spray painted and was pretty trashed.
They said it had been across the street last week for about 4 days then someone came and picked it up and then it was back here yesterday. I think whoever stole my son's bike ditched that one for the time being.
"Oh that's too bad, but why are you telling me this?" you ask. Because I want to remind all of you busy mommies, just like me, to WRITE DOWN THE SERIAL NUMBER of your children's bicycles and keep it in a safe place. Even if the police were to recover it, there is no way we can prove its ours, since I never got around to doing that. You can find the number easily if you flip the bike over. It is located on the bottom right under where the pedals connect.
I wrote down the numbers of my other two kids' bikes and saved them to a flash drive. Now in the event this happens again, we will be a little more prepared.
Hope this helps you become even more diligent mothers. Happy summer!
