DS14 having rhinoplasty....anyone else been thru this?

Long story short my ds14 broke his nose in football and now due to complications needs it repaired. He is scheduled to have this 5 days b4 school starts back. What can i expect besides the obvious? He is 14 but a very fit stocky 200 lb 14 yo. He is however a big baby when it comes to needles and such. We dont talk about the surgery much b/c he's scared and then he's angry about no sports for the first at least 8 wks of school which is the entire football season almost.

 I had a nose job.. for breathing and cosmetically .. I am Italian need I say more! LOL

 anyway.. I don't knoe if I just had a great surgeon.. but I was in NO pain.. very uncomfortable (the packing) and after ,they had to twist it a few times.. THAT was painful!

 However the actual post op I had NO pain at all .. also , DON"T do this on your own ,, but he made me take this natural stuff called Arnica Montana and I had NO bruising at at all.. but this is a blood thinner , so don't do it  without asking your doc.. make sure he is reputable and board certified ..

Jul. 21, 2008 at 9:21 AM Thanks lillpop. I am doing my research already. I will ask him about the med u mentioned. DS is really worried that he will have 2 black eyes and lots of bruising when he goes to school the follwing week after surgery, 5 days to be exact. I pray it will go easy and with minimal pain and suffering.
