Do you ever wonder how some people can get through the day without managing to kill themselves or others?  Last week I went to a website of a company I saw advertised on TV.  Their have really nice clothes and I wanted to request a catalogue.  However, the only way to request one online required information about my previous address if I hadn't been at my current one very long.

Well, I moved to Scotland from the US less than three months ago.   I didn't mind giving them my previous address or any of the other information they requested but their online form did not allow me to enter my American zipcode.  So I wrote them an online enquiry asking how I could just have a catalogue sent to me without having to use their online form.

What follows is their response and my answer to that response.  I x'ed out names and e-mail addresses because there are worse than idiots out there in the world.

Internet Customer Service Team

Dear Ms. Mxxxxx:

Thank you for your response but I question if you even read my enquiry at all.

1.  I do NOT, REPEAT NOT,NOT,NOT, NOT, NOT want to open an account.  I do not want to open an account, I do not want to open an account, I do not wish, require, need or want to open an account with your company.  Have I managed to make this quite clear now?  If there are any doubts about the above please see items number 2, 3, 4 and 5.

2.  I have only been in the UK for a little less than three (3) months.  My previous address was in the US and your online form does not allow for that type of postcode.  Which is why I sent my original enquiry.  And, since I do not want to open an account I really see no need for my previous address although if you really insist, I will be happy to supply it.

3.  As I have only been in the UK for less than three (3) months and am not employed, I seriously doubt my ability to be allowed any form of credit but, because I do not want to open an account, this issue is moot.

4.  If I am going to buy an item from your company I fully intend to use my current Visa debit or credit card, therefore I do not want or need to open an account.

5.  Finally, I am beginning to question the wisdom of dealing with a company who pays someone such as yourself to answer enquiries without bothering to read them.  So, although I do not want to open an account, even if I did, I would seriously hesitate to put my financial details in the hands of a company who hires people who do not do the job they are paid to do.

In summary, I do not want to open an account, I just would like to get a catalogue.  If you have any further questions or, as I sadly fear, do not bother to read this message, please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Sincerely (really sincerely hoping you do read this and realize I do not want to open an account),

Kxxxxxxx Sxxxxxxx
