i bought my stroller/carseat combo at babies 'r 'us. it's a baby trend, orange and grey.
i love the style. it's super cute. i like that to adjust the height of the head support, you just simply turn a knob. that's all i like about it.
the head support is too big to support his head, but too small to allow me to put a store-bought headsupport in there, so his head always falls forward. the thing that clicks the seatbelt straps together over the chest slides down to his belly and i have found that he has gotten his arm out of the harness! installation: although it has the metal clamps to hook onto the hooks in the car, it moves around too much. my daughter is nine and when she had a car seat, you pulled the crap out of it and secured it with an "H" clip. that sucker wasn't going anywhere. i hooked the carseat into the metal clips, but since it moved (well over an inch) i wanted to do the h clip as well. well, it broke! i could put the carseat in but i couldn't get it out! luckily, we had bought another carseat (no stoller) at target the 2-tone grey baby trends. we switched the covers so that it would match and we're using that one now. it only goes up to 22 pounds. is that normal? my son is 4 months and three weeks and weighs 16 pounds.
i like the stroller. it has nice sized cupholders, a compartment for keys and the same cute style. however, if i walk too fast, the front right wheel starts shaking like a grocery store cart wheel and i can't close it one handed. the front wheels turn and get jammed and it takes two hands to fight with it.
we are looking for another one. i would like one that would last a long time as far as the weight goes. one that's easy to open and close (preferably one-handed), one that i can walk quickly/jog with and one that has good head support. are there ones that convert from rear-facing to front-facing? we didn't have a lot of assistance, so i just picked one that i THOUGHT was good. any help? brands to steer clear of, other than baby trends, brands to steer towards, features you love or hate? which one do you have? what do you like/dislike about it???
Comments:
I got a graco combo stroller and carseat that I use when I'm running in and out of stores. I got a Baby Jogger City Series for my baby shower too. I use it for walks and like it alot. It folds up super easy, but is kinda heavy. It steers really well and can switch from a straight front wheel to swivel. Some cons are that is doesn't have much storage space at all and if you put too much weight on the handle bar, it tips easily. Also, the stroller doesn't have shocks/springs so it's difficult to jog with. If I had to choose another one, I'd go with the Bob Jogger, it was only $50 more than mine and I wish I picked that one out. They are both really expensive up to $300+, but I feel it's worth it to but a nice stroller, because it gets lots of use and it makes my life easier. I don't know ones that have a rear-facing to front facing that arn't super expensive--around $600+. I seared for strollers on yahoo.com and found some pretty good websites that had every stroller imaginable. Good luck!
