12/1 The surgery went great! How terrifying to go through this, but the other side is like a dream! The doctor closed both holes in his heart (Ventricular Septal Defect and Atrial Septal Defect) and he's doing great. They've got him on so many tubes and gadgets that the bed (a regular sized bed) holds most of the tubes and he looks lost in there!
I can't talk too much as I'm just about wiped out, but he's doing great!!!

Praise God that all went well! I know you are relieved and yet exhausted, but at least he is doing great! I will definitely keep you both in my prayers that he will have a speedy recovery and that 'mom' will get some needed rest. Take care!

My daughter has VSD also. I am a nurse so when she was diagnosed I was quite frightened, because I knew that VSD doesn't usually come by itself- as you well know with your son.
I am very lucky though because in her case it did. Which was a relief. They chose not to do any surgery on her and to let it close up on its own. Except that she is almost 8yrs old and it still hasn't closed.
Anyways Good Luck!!!
