I'm sorry, I'm a bit confused.  Are we being racist or not?  Do people need to feel that color matters and "stick to their own kind" or should we all understand that we're just human?  My son is tri-racial and I'm VERY proud of that.  I understand that knowing that one of your ancestors owned your family is pretty upsetting, I have a few of those.  It's nothing that changes who I am, though!  It doesn't make me any other person but me so how is my mixed racial ancestry shameful?  I'm a bit confused.  I love CNN but I think this statement should be revised.

Howdy! I am so glad you changed your avatar BTW. That last one made me cringe every time I looked at it!lol I know, I'm one to be talking, right?

Well, I can understand why she would be curious about exactly where she came from...if that is what you are referring to? I know, I am often curious about my ancestors though I am such a mut there is no way I will know every detail and frankly I am too lazy to look that deeply.

I do know there is racism still lingering on all sides of the pyramid which is sad. My niece and nephew are both mixed-white and black and whenever I take them anywhere I get stares from people like we are aliens! What I really cannot understand is we are from GA! We are actually the minority where we live so I do not understand what is so shocking! Get over it people! There are far greater things going on in this world to ponder!
