Hooray! Isn't that the way it always works? I write a post because I'm at the end of my rope, and this morning Asher wakes up happy and good and sweet and polite... he took an hour to fall asleep for nap, but he did sleep, and he wasn't throwing a fit, and was out (or at least quiet) within 10 minutes for bed. Really, our only "problem" today was that he had so many darn poopies! So, yippee! I have my son back.
I, however, did NOT get the dishes done or the house clean. Grrr. It baffles me that it takes less than 12 hours for my living room to become unwalkable and the kitchen counters unfindable. How does that work? How do dishes never end when just Ash and I are using them, and I'm not even cooking meals that take dishes to prepare? *sigh* My main concern is that Nate'll be home and then I'll just go all codependent again and dump it on him when I've finally proven that I can do it for the last two weeks! Except laundery. I just never got the guts to carry two kids, the laundry, and the detergent down three flights of stairs and through the courtyard.
Anyhow, I am SO excited that Nate's coming home Saturday! Poor guy will be spending the night at the airport, 'cause the last bus leaves 5 minutes before his flight is even due in. So from Gettysburg to Minneapolis will end up being 20 hours with driving and waiting included! That's almost as long as it took to get from Nagoya to Seattle! Sheesh. But he'll be wandering in around 6 am, and that will be wonderful. I just hope he has enough energy to make it through the day! It's Asher's 2nd bday and we're planning on hitting the children's museum - which we've still never made it to. Oops!
Then just one week together before I leave with the boys and Nate packs up.
