First few weeks in Omaha

The boys and I have been in Omaha for three weeks now. I have to say, it has been rough and an emotional rollercoaster!

About a month ago DH found a house in the neighborhood that was up for rent. He went to the company that is renting it out for the owner (who is still living in the house) and got the information on the rent and such. Unfortunately, we've been given a runaround since. They kept telling us different information on when we could move in, didn't want us talking to the owner and keep stalling on giving us a lease, even though we had paid the deposit. So, we went looking for something else and we found a nice rental home over by Cunningham Lake. We should be moving in by this time next week!

There was a time about a week ago that I was really doubting our decision to move here. Not because of the area, though. Omaha so far seems like a great place. It was because at the time we were basically jobless and homeless and the stress of it all was starting to get to me! But it is all coming together. DH was actually offered three jobs, so he was able to choose which one he wanted instead of taking anything he could. He started this week with Leonard Becker Const. and seems to like it, plus it pays pretty good. (Always a plus!) I've had two job interviews, now I'm just waiting on word back from them, which should be next week. We are finally going to move out of our friends' basement and into our own place. Now, we just need to find day care for the boys. It is all working out in the end. Some day we will look back and consider this just another adventure! :)
