I don't know about my husband, but I've chosen two names that I like. Charlotte for a girl, and Nolan for a boy. Someone told me that I'd change my mind a dozen times before I decide on a name, and so far they're right. As of today, I'm on the fence about the name Nolan. Sure, I like it... but it doesn't really flow well with our last name, Hoffman.
Nolan Hoffman. NNNNNNNNN. It gets stuck up into your nose before you can get it out.
Enough said.
Charlotte would be the feminine version of my husband's name Charles. I thought it would be cute. The problem is that it's gaining popularity. I suspect this is the fault of the "Sex in the City" TV show and movie. The problem I've found though is deciding on a middle name for Charlotte. My husband doesn't like to combine the same sounds together, so Charlotte Sophia is out. He also doesn't like vowels ending and beginning consecutively. That means that Charlotte Elizabeth is out.
I don't know what to do! I only have 4 months to decide, and my husband has to agree. This is really a daunting task.
Comments:
What about your middle name or take your 1st name and middle name, scramble the letters and come up with a middle name,I love the name Charlotte. I like the name Nolan but I can see your point or you can use a double name to break it up,Nolan Michael Hoffman,he would have 2 1st names (like Mary Kate Olsen). I named my son Thor Michael but always call him by his full name b/c I think that Thor is too short and it sounds cut off. Congrats on the baby,Robin
I always loved the name Avery; Charlotte Avery Hoffman (??)
I really wanted to name my daughter that, but my dummy ex didn't like it. He wanted to name her "Shelby"
yuck.
