My car broke down today. I know the only reason this happened to me today is because DH just bought a new car......TODAY. The first day in a week that I get my car back cuz DH has been using it to go to work & the f*ing thing breaks down. Thankfully we made it home, but now I’m out of a ride. DH isn’t gonna let me drive his new Mustang. Ok, well its not brand new, it’s a ‘93, but he’s been wanting a Mustang for at least 5 years now since his last one blew up. And of course he’s gonna be mad at me for this happening. The car was fine before he started running it to work. Now this whole past week its been going thru water like crazy & overheating. He didn’t tell me it was as bad as it actually was or I would have kept 5 gallons of water in the car for emergency....like today. So anyway, we all left this morning to go down to the loan office & sign papers so he can take his new car home today after work (which is about 20 miles away). The car starts overheating before we’re even 3 miles down the road, so we run to the gas station to put water in it & head down to the loan office. Then we drive the 20 miles back and another at least 20 miles to his work, just so I can drop him off & drive that same 20+ miles back into Kittanning to pick up groceries. This whole time the car is doing fine w/ the water he put in at the gas station. So I leave the grocery store & again, like 3 miles down the road the car starts overheating, ok, I turn the heater on & pray we make it to the nearest gas station for water & there I fill it up again (3 gallons). Everything is fine until I hear this noise which sounds like I’m dragging something under the car, so I stop & look (btw, at this time I’ve only gone about 6 miles from the gas station) there’s nothing under the car, then I see steam rolling out of the hood, woohoo. So when I check THAT out I see the insulation under the hood is all torn up & steam or smoke is coming from everywhere. I finally find the source, it’s a hose that popped off from the thing where the water goes in. Ok, I fixed that, I start the car & now I have no steering power, the car is still overheating & its making a funny noise. I make it to a small creek where I can fill up a gallon jug & put more water in the car (5 gallons this time), but of course that doesn’t help, the car is STILL OVERHEATING! I drive the last 2 miles to the house just waiting for the car to blow up or something, but it didn’t, thank God, but what am I gonna do now? I HATE bad luck!! There’s always something going wrong for me!
