♥ Wow...Isn't it simply amazing how Music can take you back? Like every time I hear the song, "Stand By Me" it still gives me Goosebumps! That is our Wedding song from 1986 (not when it first came out)!

The Aerosmith song "I don't want to miss a thing" is and will always be my most favorite song. When I take my big "Dirt Nap" I would like that played! Because I tell my kiddos "That even when I‘m not here...I‘m Still here and I will see all the special moments in their lives"!

Songs can make you Sad, Happy, Energized and even Sexy! They seem to Laminate a special moment in your life! When I was younger I had a really neat record player that had these Multi Colored Flashing Starburst that would flash to the beat of the music! This was before I got an upgrade to a High-tech 8 Track player!! Besides some old Read Along Disney records and some we cut off from the back of some Cereal Boxes my Sister & I had...These 3 records (below) are the ones that bring back tons of fun memories for me!
♥ If It Don't Fit, Don't Force It... By: Kellee Patterson (1977) ♥
I was visiting an Elderly next door neighbor one day. He was 91 years old and very lonely. I would sit on his porch with him and he would tell me all about his life. When I went to go home one day he had boxes of stuff set out for the trash. On top was a few 45 records. I asked him if I could have one and he said Sure! I picked this one for some reason. It‘s a very catchy song. But a bit strange for a 9 year old to be singing around the House! I truly don't think it was my Elderly friends record though....but you never know!

♥ Pretty Woman... By: Roy Orbison ♥
Oh how I loved this song! I would grab my Hair Brush (I mean Microphone!), move the long bench from the bottom of my bed and put it in front of my big dresser mirror. Then put that 45 on my record player with the flashing lights! Then get up on top of my bench and dance up & down it like a Runway for hours! Yes hours! I still love that song and Roy. He even lived here in Fort Worth back in the 40's!

♥ Baby Come Back... By: Player (1977) ♥

I had saved up my allowance. Which was a whole DOLLAR!! That was after I had done 4 Chores that I got paid .25 each for! Those were the days! I truly thought I was rich to! I proudly took that Dollar to the Wilco Store and picked out this 45. I even got to "test it out" on the Stores Record Player! I think this was the 1st song that made me Boy Crazy! Years later the bassist from Player, Ronn Moss showed up on one of my Soaps "The Bold And The Beautiful" as Ridge Forrester.

I have a confession. I have never Downloaded a song and I've never owned an iPod! But I still have these old records. When we were packing a few months ago to move to Texas the kiddos saw my box of records. They asked me "What are those Mom" ? I just cracked up and felt really old! After I explained what they were....The kiddos asked me if they could play them in the CD Player! Too funny! ♥

Hey, thanks for the trip. I have downloaded songs onto my hard drive but I don't have an i-pod or an MP3 player and I don't know how they are supposed to work. I am still getting used to using a Disc-man for Heaven's sake! But it is great to be able to go to one of those sites (I prefer Limewire) and find all these old songs. Or at least the greatest majority that I have wanted. Then I can play them when I am on the computer and smile....Or have my sone burn them to a CD so I can take them on road trips and sing to all those great songs at the top of my lungs just like when I was a kid!
Thank you for letting me feel young!!! I too had a "microphone." Mine was a gravy baster. The kind that looks like a giant eye dropper. =) My sister and I would put on shows for hours in our basement.

Oh and I had a small red plaid record player! I still have quite the record collection but sadly nothing to play them on anymore...Wes is going to get me a new one soon though! Queen and Elton John just sound so much better with white noise!!! LOL!!!
