Without dragging out too much of the drama, I have had a rough few months and feel kind of stuck and helpless with my life situation. So, I have decided what I want to do with my life. I want to teach. School. Like, high school or career tech. Oklahoma has a program where you use the education and experience you already have, along with 12-24 classroom hours, and several tests to get a teaching liscence, then after a year of classroom experience with a mentor, you get your certification. You have 3 calendar years from the time of application to get the required class hours and tests completed. Lucky for me, I have a University right here in my backyard where I can complete the required coursework!

I requested my transcripts today, filled out the application, and wrote the check. As soon as my transcripts arrive I will get the application notarized and go from there!

WISH ME LUCK!

Good for you!  It's definitely not too late to change careers at 34...I'm thinking about doing it next year at 31! :)

Jul. 25, 2008 at 6:56 PM Good for you. I wish it were that easy in my State, but it's not. Here it's the old fashioned way, where you have to go to either a Junior college, be an Assistant Teacher, or Junior College, then transfer to a 4 year University. UGH! You're looking at like 5 years till all is said and done. I'd do that in a Heartbeat if it were like that hear. You go girl!
