Like many of you, I was looking for a way to make better money without having to go to a college or university for 4 years. I found Career Step in 2005 and enrolled right away! At the time, we lived in a small community and I wanted a job that would allow me the flexibility of being at home and attending field trips, school functions, etc. with my kindergarten-aged son while contributing financially to my family.
I studied on a part-time basis and found the course to be very thorough. After 10 months, I could not believe I had completed the course and graduated with HIGH HONORS! Also, within 24 hours of receiving my test results, I was offered a position with Spheris! I took part in the Spheris Training Track (STT) partnership and am very glad that I started my career that way. Spheris was a great first job and I was with them for 18 months.
However, in May of 2007, I saw an employment ad from our local hospital searching for an MT which was too good to pass up. After much consideration, I resigned from Spheris and have been working from home for our local hospital since. The skills, education, and experience that I gained from Career Step and Spheris BOTH helped me land this new job so quickly and easily.
In December of 2007 I had 2 years of acute care experience and tested for my CMT certification. I passed on the first try! I really felt honored and proud to add that designation to my title. There is no doubt in my mind that the great training through Career Step helped me achieve that goal.
If you are interested in working from home and being in charge of your own financial future, training to become a medical transcriptionist is a great option!!! Career Step made my dreams come true and I know they can do the same for you. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns. Good luck in taking your next CAREER STEP!!!!
