Now this can be a lot of fun. I'm sitting in the car at the Marina Del Rey channel with the family, just enjoying the ocean breeze and watching the birds. We were commenting on the pigeons, how they were flying in circles and would not land. Something was not quite right. Usually they circle a couple of times then land.
The car begins to shake, so I'm looking around to see who is doing it. I figured someone was being wierd and shaking the back of the car for some reason. Then I notice ALL the cars around us are shaking. Cool! We're having an earthquake. The ladies in the car next to us get out and check on their kids who were eating outside on the grass.
Everyone was OK. We all began talking to each other about it and making jokes. Some began to reminisce about the Northridge quake and what their experience was.
We came home to a house exactly the same as when we left it. No damage. No broken items. I was pleasantly surprised.
I've heard it was a 5.8, and a 5.4. The same thing happened during the Northridge quake. The reports differed. Normal for the first few days. No reports of damage anywhere in the city yet. I don't think there will be. It wasn't that big of a quake. Just a fun natural rollercoaster in Los Angeles.
